Eating Locally in Madison, Wisconsin.

Locavores in the Madison, Wisconsin area now have a new tool to find locally grown food. Built by a group of geography students for the University of Wisconsin at Madison, the local food map is interactive and allows a user to search by Co-op, Market, CSA, Farm, Restaurant, or Community Garden and to further segment by Meat/Poultry, Produce and Dairy. It's well worth checking out!

VERY cool! I think those students should challenge U. of Michigan students to do the same. ;-)

What a cool utility! And there's tons of great stuff to eat in that radius, too. The Madison farmers' market is one of my faves in the Midwest -- amazing stuff and tons of producers!

This is great work! I've had this idea forever that it would be amazing if we could have these resources on our maps as we travel our states, region and country. Now with Google getting more advanced by the day, I think this team should do a Google application that shows farms, CSA's, farmer's markets, etc. when you use Google Maps! These resources should also be available as young people re-locate to different parts of the country. Quality local food networks would definitely play a role in my decision making!
