I was reading my epicurious.com email. Yes, at work. A promotion caught my eye. Epicurious developed a dinner party program with menus from famous chefs, etc. They provide the invites, etc. and tips on hosting. When you host a party, you ask for donations, and those are donated to the Second Harvest charity that feeds hungry people in the U.S.
All of the readers and authors here being community supporters and activist types, I thought, hey, why not each of us try to do a Eat Local dinner that promotes eating local, AND donates the proceeds from the dinner to Second Harvest?
I am trying to think of a menu, date and plan. Maybe fall, before the holidays and tie-in to the Harvest theme? Let me know if any of you try this idea and how it works out.
